Public Hub Form Page

What is a Public Hub?

  • It’s an organization that provides at least one resource, free of charge, to those who are in need because of a crisis that affects lots of people.

  • It has a bulletin board, wall, or kiosk for posting printed information. This helps people find resources and routes even if they don’t have access to the Internet.

  • It does not have to be a big building, though it can be. It may be a nonprofit, a business, a school, a farm, or a group of friends.

  • It is located in Coastal Mendocino County. It has a website where the public can learn about the organization and its leaders.

  • It has from 1 to 4 people willing to play the role of Public Hub Leader.

  • In many cases, it is a place people can get help filling out Private Hub Forms.

What’s great about being a Public Hub LEADEr?

  • As a Public Hub Leader, you will receive protected information from Private Hubs on your Island.  You may also receive data from Private Hubs on other Islands on the Mendocino Coast.

  • You’ll use this privilege to do two main things: (1) arrange exchanges and (2) help your Island plan for success.

  • Arrange Exchanges: people will try to contact you when times are tough. To the best of your ability, you will help match up the resources you know about with the people who need them.

  • Help Plan for Success: While keeping the details private, you can use summaries of the information to help people notice your Island’s strengths and weak spots. This will help people on your Island figure out which kinds of preparation are needed most.
